If you are an experienced private equity or venture capital professional, and would like to contribute your time and expertise to make a direct and meaningful contribution to poverty alleviation in Africa, then the Jacana Expert Mentorship programme might just be for you.

The programme, which involves playing a highly active role in the capacity building of emerging private equity funds in Sub-Saharan Africa, is a unique and integral part of Jacana’s business model.

The likely profile of an Expert Mentor includes at least 10 years relevant experience, a motivation to alleviate poverty in Africa, and an ability to commit a significant amount of time – at least 5 days a month. The role is pro-bono and includes regular travel to Africa, with all expenses being reimbursed. The opportunity to invest in the specific fund you are working with is also available.
