Our Funds - Investment Criteria

Jacana looks for Partner Growth Capital Investment Managers (GCMs) that have the potential, with support from Jacana, to raise and manage an SME fund of between $15 and $50 million. In terms of deal size, we target GCMs investing between $500,000 and $5 million per portfolio company.

Our basic criteria for selecting Partner GCMs are as follows:

Experience of investing debt or equity and achieving acceptable returns
A strong team with a mixture of different skills
Individuals that can be referenced with trusted sources
A strong local network of contacts and relationships
An understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of growth finance
A clear focus and investment strategy
A credible competitive strategy and strong sources of deal flow
A team with some international exposure
An enthusiasm for working with Jacana and a defined need for our services.
